SEYMOUR â€” Two juveniles are facing charges after they led police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle Saturday afternoon, officials said.
One juvenile, identified as the driver, was charged with third-degree larceny, reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit, operating without a license and interfering with officers. He was released on a written promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Juvenile Court Feb. 20 and Derby Superior Court Feb. 27.
The second juvenile, the passenger, was charged with third-degree larceny and interfering with officers. He was released on a written promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Juvenile Court Feb. 20.
Around 1:45 p.m. Saturday, officers from Seymour responded to help Derby officers in pursuit of a stolen motor vehicle. Derby police reported they had attempted to stop the vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Bridgeport.
The pursuit started in Derby and continued into Oxford, where the driver and passenger hopped out of the vehicle and fled into the woods on foot, police said. Several officers and a K-9 unit quickly found the two and took them into custody.
