72-year-old, two more charged in burglary

Norwich Bulletin

LEDYARD — Three people, including a 72-year-old man, were charged Friday with burglarizing a home, police said.

At approximately 7:25 p.m., Ledyard police responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress at 16 Marlene Drive, according to a press release.

Police said they found three individuals at the scene: Dock Ballard, 72, of 1446 Hartford-New London Turnpike in Oakdale; Daniel Worden, 52, of 23 Ledgewood Drive in Gales Ferry; and Diane Frasscarelli, of 14 Marlene Drive in Ledyard.

Police said the suspects opened a window and entered the residence before taking various items from the home and placing them into two vehicles parked in the driveway.

All three were charged with third-degree burglary and fifth-degree larceny. In addition, Worden was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ballard was held on a $75,000 bond and Worden and Frasscarelli were each held on a $50,000 bonds. All three are due in New London Superior Court today.
