Man stole firewood from grandmother

Norwich Bulletin

KILLINGLY — Police said they located an Ashford man with two active arrest warrants after investigating a complaint that he had stolen firewood from his grandmother in Killingly.

On Jan. 10, troopers from state police in Danielson were dispatched to a report of stolen firewood at a Country Club Road residence. The complainant told police that the victim’s grandson, Tyler J. Labranche, 26, of 62 Westford Road in Ashford, had stolen roughly a half cord of firewood.

Labranche was advised to return the firewood to the property, police said. Once Labranche returned to the property and began unloading the wood, he was found to have two active PRAWN warrants in his name, police said.

According to an incident report, Labranche was charged with two counts of violation of probation. The two PRAWN arrest warrants held a cumulative $20,000 in bond.

He was scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Thursday.
