Driver charged in one-car crash

ASHFORD — One person was arrested for driving under the influence after a one-car crash Sunday on Pumpkin Hill Road.

State police Sgt. Eric Haglund said one person was charged for driving under the influence and failing to drive in the proper lane.

The driver was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

According to emergency radio reports, the Ashford Fire Department responded to an overturned car at 419 Pumpkin Hill Road around 6:38 p.m.

Haglund said the driver may have been trapped in the vehicle, but was able to climb out on his or her own. No other people were in the car.

The driver was transported to Windham Community Memorial Hospital with very minor injuries, Haglund said.

Haglund could not release the name of the driver at press time.
